Can Cauliflower be sexy? I think so. Have you ever thought about grilling cauliflower? Believe it or not, the char it gains on the outside of its cute little florets and the smoke flavor that envelops it from basking on the grill and getting smoke flavor from Kingsford Charcoal transforms this vegetable into something exciting. This is a welcome alternative to the “fried” buffalo cauliflower renditions you may have seen at restaurants.
And believe it or not, you don’t have to do much to take Cauliflower to new heights. The grill is the key to its’ epic transformation! I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for veggie side dishes I can add to my grilling repertoire and this is one of them! The beauty of this recipe is that they can be served as an appetizer or a side dish and maybe even as a main course with the addition of a bit of protein.
The key to grilling these is chopping the head of cauliflower so as to keep the large heads intact so they can bask in the greatness of the grill without falling through the grill grates. Grilling the cauliflower directly on the grates adds flavor and char and takes this veggie to new heights.
The Buffalo sauce for this recipe couldn’t be easier. It’s primarily a mixture of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and butter and garlic! Easy peasy! Check out my instagram reel below to see this recipe in action!

Now, if you want the true buffalo experience, you can pair these with my blue cheese dip, but in an effort to keep these healthy, remember that these are amazing on their own. The flavor of Kingsford charcoal adds so much to these grilled cauliflower they don’t need anything else!

- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 3 appetizer sized portions, about 4 florets each 1x
- Diet: Vegetarian
Description
Cauliflower gets a sexy makeover by throwing it on the grill! Cauliflower florets develop nice smoky flavor by being roasted on the grill, and then finishes with a simple buffalo sauce made of butter, garlic and Franks Red Hot Sauce.
Ingredients
Ingredients:
1 head cauliflower, cut into large pieces for grilling
Sauce
- ½ cup franks red hot sauce
- ½ cup butter
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
Directions:
Melt butter on medium heat and add minced garlic, let cook for one minute before adding hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Let sauce simmer on low heat to combine ingredients. Now, go start your grill.
Prepare a grill for medium direct heat. Grill cauliflower florets until they have gotten a nice char on the outside, but not burned, and all parts of the floret have touched the grill. This should take about 15 minutes (ish)- remember to flip the cauliflower florets so they are cooked evenly on both sides.
Remove from heat and pour the sauce over the florets. Serve immediately.
