I really love pasta. But, I don’t love the calories, bloat, and guilt I feel when I eat it. But lately I’ve been eating pasta all the time- since I discovered the vegetable spiralizer. I love this product so much I wanted to share it with you- no one asked me to do a review or sent me one to try- I’m just so enamored with it I want you to know about it.
The vegetable spiralizer juliennes a vegetable into spirals, virtually turning it into spirals or “pasta”. I bought the Briefton Spiral slicer after seeing other people do this, and this one had a lot of positive reviews on amazon. It gives you two julienne sizes and comes with a cleaning brush. I’ve been using this for squash and zucchini noodles that I cook for about 5 minutes or until “al dente” and then pair with my favorite sauce, meat, and parm. I am not missing the real noodles! This is my new favorite cooking gadget!
I’ve seen people make cucumber salads with this, garnishes for sushi, as well as sweet potato spirals. The opportunities are endless! What are you making with your vegetable spiralizer? I’d love to hear your tips on how to make popular dishes healthier and lower carb!
But I LIKE being bloated after eating too much pasta, that’s part of the misery….err, I mean fun. I guess you could do that for a quick stir fry noodle too, as long as it is a super hot and short cook.
