The 4th of July is nearly upon us, and what better way is there to celebrate the independence of the United States than getting together with friends and family? Every great gathering needs a standout spread of delicious food, and I’m here to help you craft the perfect menu for your holiday feast…
Red, White, and Blue Burger
This burger is THE perfect item for an American holiday! The colors of the American flag were never so delicious. This burger blends the flavors of blue cheese, bacon jam, and sweet smoky roasted red mini peppers for a burger you can only describe as….. YUM! When I really want to take this burger to the next level, I’ll get high-quality beef from Snake River Farms. Find the recipe here!
Grilled Red Pepper Potato Salad
Don’t ruin your cookout with store-bought potato salad! While homemade potato salad can be a lot of work, this recipe will redeem the work put into it, as it’s bursting with flavor and isn’t as high in calories as a traditional mayo-based version. Find the recipe here!
Grilled Corn with Coconut Lime Butter and Pepper Jack Cheese
This zesty take on corn is sure to spice up your 4th of July! I usually grill corn with the stalks on to help steam the corn but I’ve been having this Mexican style grilled corn at the Taco Shack down the street and they grill the kernels directly over the flame. I was inspired to try the corn this way and it turned out great- nice and charred and smokey, and full of buttery flavor from basting it during the cooking process. Find the recipe here!
Red, White, and Blue Cobbler
What meal is complete without dessert? We’ve got yet another patriotic dish here, one that your guests are sure to go wild for. This cobbler combines strawberries, blueberries, and coconut for the perfect outdoor dessert to serve this holiday. Made in a skillet, this cobbler bakes on the grill while you enjoy your first course- pull it off after 30 minutes when it is warm and bubbly and pair with ice cream. There will be no leftovers with this decadent dish! Find the recipe here!
