If you are looking for an epic frosé recipe that will knock your socks off, then this is it! Sure, there are plenty of frosé recipes on the web, but as I’ve been perfecting my frosé recipe making for the past four years, I can say with confidence that this frosé recipe is damn good. At minimum you will be the talk of the block when you make it at your next cookout or gathering.
This frosé recipe uses watermelon, which is in abundance in summertime! I don’t know about you but watermelon says summer to me, and I want watermelon in ALL THE THINGS!
The key to making this watermelon frosé recipe is freezing the watermelon and rosé in the freezer overnight. If you have an ice cube tray, you can pour the rosé into that so you will have nice neat little rosé cubes, but I usually just take a gallon Zip-lock bag and double it for any leaks, pour the rosé in, and let it freeze overnight.
I let the Zip-lock bag sit in the freezer on its side with the liquid in a sheet, similar to how it would be in a sheet pan. This makes it easier to work with when throwing in the blender as it is more of a thin sheet of rosé that can easily be broken apart for putting into the blender.
This blender drink is reminiscent of what you would have at a tropical location on a beach somewhere. They go down easy so you can get yourself in trouble because they are delicious but the vodka and rose together can pack a punch!
The lime with the watermelon makes this frosé recipe taste like a rosé margarita and the vodka could easily be substituted with tequila.
If you want to make this less strong, omit the vodka and it will still be refreshing!
I rimmed my wine glass with my Sunshine State of Mind Craft Cocktail Rub and Rimmer, with notes of Kaffir lime, granulated honey, Himalayan salt and coriander and it complemented this Watermelon Frosé perfectly! I dare you to try to not lick it off the glass! This rub is equally at home on your margarita glass as it is on grilled chicken, pork, or seafood. Use code FROSE for $1 off your next order if you would like to try it on ALL THE THINGS!
Trust me when I tell you that it is highly addictive and I can say with a high level of confidence that it will be your new favorite rub.
Lastly, if you give this recipe a try, don’t forget to tag (and please follow!) me on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest and I will share your frosé! We may not have met in person, but when you make this slushy blender drink hold your glass up high and cheers me from wherever you are!
