There is probably nothing more American or the epitome of a BBQ than hot dogs on the grill. Whether you top your hot dog off with ketchup and mustard or sprinkle it with relish, the same old toppings get tiring. Food Network’s Grilling Central devised a 30 day calendar dedicated to all the different – and especially unique – toppings that you could dress your hot dog with.
They have recipes for BLT Dogs, Surf Dogs, Jerk Chicken Dogs, California Dogs and Pekingese Dogs just to name a few. After checking out all the favorites on the list, you will never have to eat a boring hot dog ever again. Whip out these uncommon toppings at your next BBQ and easily impress your guests. This calendar shows that there is no excuse for having a naked hot dog.
While I’m intrigued by several of these, they fail to
mention my personal favorite (Carolina style chili, slaw, onions,
mustard) and the one I want to try the most, the Sonoran. I guess
we need February too, ha ha.
Hi,
TS Eddie here. I love the post about the 30 days of Hot Dogs. Great recipe for a hot dog I recently discovered is a toasted bun, quality hot dog, pulled pork BBQ, melted sharp cheddar cheese and ketchup based bbq sauce drizzled on top of the melted cheese along with a side of french fries and a coke zero to cancel out some of the calories.LOL. No naked hot dog for this southener!!!
