Hailing from the Great White North, Canadian sisters Maddie and Kiki Longo have turned up the heat — making a name for themselves as a “Canada’s favorite female grill masters.” With a weekly show on YouTube, television appearances, #BBQActsofKindness, their very own house blend, and being named 2020’s Top 10 BBQ Experts in North America I knew we had to include them in my Girls Who Grill series!
Plus, they were kind enough to share their delicious, hearty Smoked French Onion Soup.

Were you ever intimidated by grilling?
Since we saw our mom rock the grill ever since we were little girls, we grew up around grilling and BBQ and were never intimidated. Now, we cook on it all! Charcoal, gas, pellet, and live fire grilling. We love all forms of outdoor cooking!
What would you say is a dish you’re most famous for grilling?
It’s difficult to choose one particular dish since we love making everything on the grill! But everyone always talks about our ginormous smoked bologna! One of our favorites from our holiday media tour is our Smoked French Onion Soup — it’s so addicting!
What has been your proudest moment in grilling?
We were named among the top 10 BBQ experts in North America in 2020 and we were the only women listed. It’s a dream that we still cannot believe came true!
What advice would you give other women who want to learn to grill?
Once you start grilling, you won’t want to stop! It’s a passion that continues to grow and grow with every cook!
What is on your list of dishes you want to try on the grill?
We’re always learning with each cook and would love to continue learning more about plant-based grilling as Kiki follows a plant-based lifestyle due to a serious medical condition.
What’s on your grilling gear wish list?
We love welcoming new grills into our grill lineup! The more the merrier!

We’re sisters, but we aren’t twins! We get asked if we’re twins 30 times a day!
What is on your grilling “bucket list?”
We want to meet and grill with Grill Girl Robyn!!!!!
