If you love bacon, and you love a good cocktail, then a bacon martini needs to be in your cocktail repertoire. I developed this bacon martini recipe because I wanted the perfect drink to compliment grilled or barbecued foods that checked off all the boxes of what I wanted in a martini- a cocktail that is easy drinking that pairs well with everything and can easily be sipped by the pool for happy hour or can stand up next to any meal you pair it with. 

My bacon martini recipe is not a dry martini that you would pair with an olive, it’s more in the category of a sweet martini like a Cosmopolitan or a French Martini. In this Bacon Martini Recipe, I first start by making bacon vodka using the fat washing technique.

This bacon martini combines the flavors of bacon with complimentary flavors of peach, raspberries, and a touch of BBQ sauce by fusing it with peach juice and chamboard in a frozen glass served with a drizzle of BBQ Sauce. Because Pork pairs well with fruit flavors, the peach juice paired with and raspberries in the chambord are a great sweet compliment to tone down the rich salty undertones of bacon in this drink, which is this finished with the citrus undertones of my Sunshine State of Mind Craft BBQ Rub as the cocktail rimmer.

This drink culminates with a swizzle of bbq sauce and a garnish of crispy bacon, peaches and a maraschino cherry that gives the perfect salty sweet balance to a martini that is balanced fusion of sweet and salty with a touch of crunch of bacon garnish.

  • ¾ ounce Peach Juice

How to Make a Bacon Martini:

If you’ve already made bacon vodka (follow my instructions linked here), then making a bacon martini is even easier! Follow these steps to create the perfect cocktail:

  1. Drizzle bbq sauce in martini glasses and freeze overnight so the sauce freezes to the glass for a nice presentation and the glasses keep the cocktail cold when drinking.
  2. Chill the vodka: Make sure the bacon vodka is well chilled before making the cocktail.
  3. Prepare the garnish: Cook a few extra strips of bacon until crispy and set them aside for garnishing the cocktail.
  4. Make the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1 ½ oz of the chilled bacon vodka, 1/2 oz of Chambord, and ¾ oz of Peach Juice
  5. Rim your glass by using a peach slice to wet the tip of the glass and then dip into Sunshine State of Mind Craft BBQ Rub as a cocktail rimmer
  6. Shake and strain: Shake the cocktail vigorously for about 10 seconds to chill the ingredients and blend the flavors. Strain the cocktail into your chilled martini glass.
  7. Garnish and serve: Garnish the cocktail with a skewer of crispy bacon, a peach slice, and a maraschino cherry and serve immediately.

Substitutions:

Bacon is a savory ingredient that pairs well with many different flavors, including some fruits. If you aren’t a fan of peaches, try using a different fruit such as; apples, pears or pineapple! Keep in mind that the sweetness of the fruit should not overpower the flavor of the bacon. Experiment with different combinations to find the perfect balance of flavors.

With notes of kaffir lime, grapefruit, orange, coriander, Himalayan salt, granulated honey, smoked paprika and a dash of chipotle, your taste buds are taken on a citrus adventure that begs you wanting more with every bite! Trust me when I tell you, chicken, fish and pork have never been so exciting! Plus, it’s amazing as a cocktail rimmer! You will lick your entire glass! (I did!)
