Many of you know I do some freelancing for various sites – I thought you would find this article I wrote for TheFix.com on Regional BBQ Styles very interesting. My preferred style of BBQ is Lexington Style NC BBQ (I grew up in Charlotte, not far from Lexington), but I love any kind of BBQ I can get my hands on of course. I also love the Jamaican Jerk BBQ I can get down here in South Florida due to our large Caribbean influence. What is your favorite style of BBQ? I recently bought a Master built smoker & love to smoke about anything & everything.My grand-sons wife is from NC. & she always misses the way NC.baste their meat with a vinegar base to it. I’m going to try that nest time they come for a visit.
Barbara, I love all types of BBQ but I grew up in Charlotte so I definitely miss my red sauce. I think the red slaw is fantastic!
There’s no BBQ like Lexington NC!!!
