I must admit I’m an online shopping addict and my discovery of Etsy, a place for all things handmade or vintage, has only fueled my fire. As evident in my logo, I have a love for Flamingos. I love finding pieces of “old Florida” which make me think of roadside citrus stands and sleepy beach towns. My Florida is fast paced and quite busy, so thinking about “old Florida” makes me relax and consider taking a quick bike ride to the beach.
When Scott and I got married, I wore a Gator Pin on my wedding dress. People asked me if I was a “Florida Gators” fan and I said, actually, I was just a fan of Gators more in the general sense, and that it seemed fitting of our beach wedding in Islamorada, Florida. Here’s a photo of my Alligator clip as pinned to my wedding dress (original photo by Kallima Photography, this is a screenshot as I couldn’t find the original):
Do you have an “old Florida” or vintage item you absolutely love in your kitchen? Send me a photo, I’d love to share them with my readers!
I don’t have a vintage Florida item in my kitchen, but I love those salt and pepper shakers. LOVE them.
Lee Ann- have you discovered Etsy? Boy do I love that site. All kinds of neat stuff you never knew you needed on there 🙂
Anything over 11 years old in my kitchen is “vintage Florida” since it came from there, ha ha.
Alexis loves the flamingos from when she saw them on your Facebook page or twitter.
Can’t get enough of the flamingos!
