Instructions
Cook Your Bacon 🥓: Let's get that bacon sizzling! Nobody likes floppy bacon. I cook bacon on a wire baking rack on top of a 9X13 pan lined in parchment paper to capture the grease in the oven at 375 degrees Farenheight for 2-25 minutes until the fat has rendered off. You can alternately cook the bacon in a skillet. Once it's cooled slightly, crumble most of it, reserving a few glorious pieces for garnish.
Combine the Mayo and Sour Cream 🥣: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayo and sour cream (or Greek yogurt). Get it nice and smooth, like you're creating the base for a masterpiece.
Tomatoes need a touch of Salt 🍅🧂: Just like I salt the tomatoes on my BLT, I add the salt to the chopped tomatoes before adding them into the dip.
Stir it Together :🥪 Add the crumbled bacon (remember, reserve some!), diced tomato, and basil to the creamy mixture. Season generously with salt and pepper. Don't be afraid to taste and adjust!
Chill Out 🥶: This is the hardest part. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and become even more amazing. If you're short on time, you can skip this step, but trust me, it's worth the wait.
Serve and Conquer 💪: Transfer the BLT dip to a pretty serving bowl. Garnish with the reserved bacon crumbles and maybe a few extra chives for good measure. Now, for the dippers…
