Tavern Direct Black Friday Giveaway!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family, I know I enjoyed mine with my new hubby, and I hope everyone is having a safe and successful Black Friday. Since it’s Black Friday, I’m sure a lot of you stood in line for hours early this morning, so I would like to giveaway a gift that you won’t have to wait in line for.

If you ever had the chance to go to the legendary Tavern on the Green in NYC, you know that the marinades and flavors of the food are delicious. Today I am giving away some goodies from Tavern Direct, including:

I started using their fig balsamic and it’s absolutely delicious. These flavor gift-sets will accentuate the natural flavors of anything you put on the grill – including veggies. Not only do these gift-sets add amazing flavor, but they also help give back to charity this holiday season. For every Tavern gift-set sold, Tavern Direct will donate $3-15 to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to help protect America’s children. These gift-sets make a great gift for anyone in the family.

Giveaway Rules:

Respond with a comment on my blog with how you would use the gift-sets if you won them. The comment could include a recipe with how the gift-set flavors would be featured. Best comment will win the giveaway. Please be sure to include your email address with your comment so I can get in touch with you!

Contest runs until Friday, December 3rd. The winner will be announced on Sunday, December 5th.

Wow, so many choices to pick from for the three flavors. I would choose the Wasabi Wonder, Smoking Chipolte, and Chili Pepper with Garlic Oil.

    The recipe I would make?

I would use the Chili Pepper with Garlic Oil and since it reminds me of sriracha, I’d make my favorite wings.

    24 chicken wingettes and/or drumettes
1/2 cup Chili Pepper with Garlic Oil
    1/4 cup butter

    1 cup sweet jasamine rice
    1 3/4 cup chicken stock
    1/2 tsp tumeric
    1 Tbsp fish sauce
    1/2 tsp saffron threads
1 tsp Chili Pepper with Garlic Oil

Fire roast the wings for 30 minutes at 375f. Flip and roast another 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, mix stock, tumeric, fish sauce, saffron, and Chili Pepper w/ Garlic Oil in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Add the rice, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes (or according to rice directions).

Melt butter with the 1/2 cup of the Chili Pepper w/ Garlic oil. Toss the wings in the mixture, return to the grill and crank up the heat (still indirect). Cook for 10 more minutes.

Serve six wings on a bed of the rice and drizzle with any extra sauce.

Coming up with a new glaze for my favorite grilled meat, Pork Tenderloin, would the priority for me if I were lucky enough to win this great prize.

I remember for my 10th birthday, my grandparents treated me to a dinner at Tavern on the Green followed by a horse and carriage ride through Central Park! This gift set would be very nostalgic and provide me a whole new way to flavor the foods I love.

Since I’m a college student with limited cooking space, one of my favorite quick but delicious side dishes I make are oven baked baby red potatoes. If I was to win the gift set I would use the garlic with rosemary oil in two ways:

    1. I would zest up my oven baked baby red potatoes, rubbing them with a generous amount of oil and salt and pepper.

    2. I’ve been really in to making mayo special, this would be a killer way to add some zing to my BLT sandwiches.
